Welcome to True Value Hardware! John and Penny Shapperd have owned and operated their award winning store since 1983. They established their business on two basic, but important principles: VALUE and SERVICE. On that idea, they strive to offer their customers a wide selection of products, value for their money, and friendly, knowledgeable customer service. With more than 40 years in the retail industry, John, along with his wife, Penny, and staff handle the daily operation of the business. The Columbia Valley in the Golden Area is best known for its diverse lake fishing, from the giant Kinbasket Lake to small lakes, beaver ponds, and anything in between. There are many lakes just to the south of Golden in the Parson and Brisco areas. Four of them have special restrictions, but contain bragging size rainbows. To the west of Golden is a chain of four lakes that contain mostly small but co-operative rainbows. Just above these lakes are two that contain brook "trout".We carry spinning tackle and a substantial quantity and variety of fly fishing and tying equipment, including SAGE rods.
