For fifty years Fran Betters had Adirondack Sport Shop opened until 2009 when his family carried on with his traidition. All of Fran Betters fly patterns and other flies that were in Adirondack Sport Shop are still for sail along with his books, custom leaders, custom vise and the spectacular custom rods he produced. Fran Betters is known world wide for his custom tied flies as the creator of the AuSable Wulff, renowned as the most productive dry fly ever created. The Adirondack Sport Shop runs a professional guide service that provides guided trips on the Ausable Bouquet and Saranac rivers and a number of other streams throughout the Adirondacks.
